MFB is written by Justine Jennings, a UC Berkeley alum with a B.A. in American Studies, concentrating on “Gender Politics.” Her undergraduate research focused on the intersection of law and gender, culminating in a thesis that investigated the socio-politics of medicalized childbirth versus midwife-attended childbirth.
While living in Spain for three months, she traveled through France, Italy, Portugal, Morocco, and Germany, seeing a total of 12 cities in 12 weeks, all while studying Spanish literature, theatre, and cinema.
After obtaining her B.A. at Cal, she went on to Golden Gate University School of Law, but quickly found that it was not for her. In spite of this, however, she still loves to research law and socio-politics, and writes about it all on this blog. She continues to participate in activism and volunteer work in the name of LGBT rights and women’s health today.
She currently lives in Oakland with her husband, two dogs, cat, and snake, Hugsy.
